Over the course of more than five decades since its establishment, the Kuwait Dairy Company has been distinguished by its journey of giving and dedication to producing high-quality raw milk, consolidating its vital role in enhancing food security in the State of Kuwait. The journey began in 1961, coinciding with the independence of the State of Kuwait, at a time when Kuwaitis were eagerly and enthusiastically looking forward to building their country and achieving growth and prosperity by launching new projects that met the needs of society. Amidst this period filled with hopes and challenges, Mr. Yaqoub Yousef Al-Humaidhi, a visionary with a keen eye for the future, realized the paramount importance of food security in the State of Kuwait. He directed his ambitious vision towards projects in the dairy, meat, poultry, and animal feed sectors. From here, the idea of establishing the Kuwait Dairy Company began.

On October 29, 1964, the Kuwait Dairy Company was established through the cooperation of three families: Al-Humaidhi, Al-Qatami, and Al-Khalid. Production began modestly with 200 heads of cows, quickly expanding to 600 heads within a short period with the construction of a modern, fully integrated factory for the production of fresh milk and its derivatives. Mr. Jassim Abdulaziz Al-Qatami assumed management responsibility from the inception and led the company for the next four decades, laying the foundations for its success and development.
The year 1978 witnessed a pivotal shift in the company’s journey. Increased milk production and the emergence of new farms in Kuwait led to the idea of bringing these farms under the umbrella of the Kuwait Dairy Company. This significant strategic development was manifested in increasing capital from KD 100,000 to KD 450,000, along with a strategic decision to separate the factory from the farm, creating separate entities with independent boards of directors. While the factory retained the company name, the farm adopted a new name: the Kuwait United Dairy Company.
Today, the Kuwait United Dairy Company is entering a new era of excellence and innovation under the leadership of an ambitious youth, determined to achieve continuous development and integrate the latest technologies into all its operations. This progress has been evident in the growth of the cow herd to 3,000 heads and the farm’s equipment with a state-of-the-art rotary milking machine that allows 60 cows to be milked simultaneously, in line with the highest international standards in the dairy industry.
